Secret shame

I've spent the last week in a dark fog, surrounded by vampires. Yep, the Twilight bug bit me. And yes, I know I'm a bit late (try five years!) and a bit old (more like *ahem* 15 years). I'm totally embarassed - It was an accident I swear!!

Here's the story:
I was staying with my best friend. After a busy Sunday we had the TV on, looking for something to veg out to. The only movie on was Twilight. So her husband (D) and I started watching, with the purpose of making fun. There were so many opportunities.

"I want to kill you" "I don't care" [Ok, that's just worrying...]

He's not in biology. [oh no! How will you continue your difficult teenage existence?!]

D - "Isn't he supposed to be hot?" me: "Which one?" D: "That one, the main guy" me: "But I think he's hideous! His eyes, that white skin. ewww" (before you flame me, I have changed my mind, but go back & view the first few minutes of the film (I'm sure you don't need any encouragement!) - he does look pretty strange. New Moon shows him in a much better light.)

Anyway... by half way through the movie we were embarassed to be into it, and by the end we were sold.  We watched New Moon the next night & Eclipse the night after that!

So now I get it.

I have bookmarked Confessions of a Male Twi-hard I check Letters to Twilight every day for new content & I just made an Edward cake for myself my sister's hen's night.

*sigh*

Pinterest

Right, so I've joined the hoards who are addicted to Pinterest. (follow me here) As we are now building a house this year I've spent many happy moments hours days wasting time researching pretty things. I couldn't be happier.

This has had unexpected consequences for my blog, however. I started initially as a way to keep track of things online. Of course, Pinterest does a much better job of this. So I've spent less & less time here. But that's ok.

Rose: life is amazing at the moment. We just bought a block of land, we're going to build, I'm not studying anymore & my sister is getting married! Things are awesome!

I've been away for ages, because life has been pretty manic for me. And now I'm pretty unwell, so I thought I'd post some pretty things :) 

Kindergarten email addresses

As part of my FINAL SEMESTER (just a little bit excited, sorry) at uni I'm doing a research project. So I have spent the last few weeks hunting down the email addresses of Melbourne Kindergartens (to invite them to participate in my online survey).

Can I suggest that this is perhaps the most frustrating thing I have done in my whole uni course? So many Kindergartens don't have email addresses. I have been trawling individual council sites which invariably have every other detail! Plus, I know they all have government provided addresses! So the address is there - I just can't find it!

GRRR!

Anyway, rant over. If you're a Kindergarten teacher in Melbourne who would like to be involved in a short research project about refugee children in your centre please post below. Or, if you'd like a copy of my final report or list of resources for Kindergarten teachers with refugee children in their centre please also post. Ta muchly!

What's irritating you at the moment?

Frockwatch

I've never understood Mamamia's Frockwatch. I just don't get the 'looking at dresses' thing. I mean usually they are crazy & totally unwearable.

Until today. I was looking at pics of last night's Emmys (to see the pics of Jim Parsons winning for The Big Bang Theory) when I came upon Melissa Rauch's dress:

 

I love it!!! I'm not entirely sure why. Perhaps the flowy soft material? Or the colours. Or all those amazing textures! Love, love, love!
